Researchers have developed a fiber that combines the elasticity of rubber with the strength of a metal, resulting in a tougher material that could be incorporated into soft robotics, packaging materials or next-generation textiles.

Researchers develop 128Mb STT-MRAM with world's fastest write speed for embedded memory

LakeArrowhead (#1) 292 days ago Science researchers develop 128mb stt-mram worlds fastest write speed embedded memory All   Discuss  | Add To
A research team has successfully developed 128Mb-density STT-MRAM (spin-transfer torque magnetoresistive random access memory) with a write speed of 14 ns for use in embedded memory applications, such as cache in IOT and AI. This is currently the world's fastest write speed for embedded memory application with a density over 100Mb and will pave the way for the mass-production of large capacity STT-MRAM.

Just when you thought it was safe to eat a salad researchers at Worcester Polytechnic Institute have shown that a decellularized spinach leaf can be turned into a vascular network that could help doctors regrow organs. The project, featured in the journal Biomaterials, is about as proof-of-concept as you can get, but the primary value is proving that a previously existing vascular system can… Read More

Researchers review progress of treating glutamate signalling in depression

LakeArrowhead (#1) 941 days ago Science researchers review progress treating glutamate signalling depression All   Discuss  | Add To
Major depressive disorder (MDD) impacts 15 million Americans and is the leading cause of disability, yet current treatments possess limited efficacy. Ketamine, which has been repurposed as a rapidly acting antidepressant, has emerged as an experimental and potentially promising compound to treat severe depression through a novel drug action mechanism that blocks glutamate receptors.

Support people with asthma to manage their illness, researchers say
